Aiden Shaw.
One creative thread.
POET is the solo-led music and visual art project created and directed by Aiden Shaw.
A vocalist, songwriter and filmmaker, Shaw brings the songs and their visual worlds together through one point of view. Music, imagery and story are connected parts of the same work.
POET has taken different forms throughout its history. Today, Shaw is its sole permanent core member, working with musicians, producers and filmmakers whose contributions help each project take shape.
02 / THE MUSIC
Intimacy.
Then impact.
Rooted in alternative rock, post-hardcore, emo and heavier music, POET leaves room for atmosphere, electronics and the pull of a melodic chorus. The sound can move; the emotional center remains.
The work returns to faith and doubt, love and damage, memory, responsibility and the possibility of change. These are human experiences, approached with restraint and an earned sense of hope.

Shaw’s background in filmmaking, cinematography, photography and editing is part of POET’s identity. He leads the visual concepts, direction and editing, bringing in collaborators where their craft expands the work.
A performance, a portrait or a narrative film can each hold a different side of the music. The visual world changes with the song, held together by tone, composition and authorship.
04 / THE CONTINUITY
The history stays.
The work moves forward.
POET emerged from Shaw’s earlier work in Armed the Witness. Death Era and The Prologue document different moments in its development, alongside a growing archive of official music videos and collaborations.
Four national touring runs and performances including Upheaval Festival are part of that history. The next direction remains open, guided by the songs and the stories they need to tell.

POET is the solo-led music and visual art project created and directed by Aiden Shaw. After four years operating publicly as a band, the project now reflects the creative structure that had long existed underneath it: Shaw is the permanent center, while musicians, producers and collaborators expand individual records, films and live performances as needed. Rooted in alternative rock, post-hardcore and heavier music without being confined by them, POET follows the song rather than a fixed genre.
SELECTED HISTORY
POET’s history includes Death Era, The Prologue and Nightera, multiple national touring runs, release shows, more than a dozen music videos and a 2025 appearance at Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
